Parliament ratified an agreement between the Moldovan Government and the Council of Europe Development Bank, whereby Moldova will receive a 900,000 euros grant for the retroactive coverage of expenses incurred by the health care system in providing medical assistance to refugees from Ukraine.

The grant will be administered by the Ministry of Health through the National Health Insurance Company.

The offered amount covers the expenses only partially, the Government said, but there are other international organizations that have contributed as well or are ready to do so.

“In this way we make sure that the country’s budget is helped by external partners in our efforts to help refugees and reduce the negative effects on the socioeconomic situation related to this crisis”, said Minister of Health Ala Nemerenco.
