90,000 kids will go to camps this summer

About 90,000 Moldovan kids spend their time in the 80 summer camps throughout the country, while 49 day camps host around 16,000 others. Due to the proposal of the task forces on the Transnistrian settlement, 100 children from each bank on the Nistru joined camps on the other bank, as part of an exchange program. Additionally, the Ministry of Education secures 100 Moldovan summer camp vouchers for Romanian students, reports Info-Prim Neo. According to the press service of the Ministry of Education, the maximum price for day camps is 89 lei/day, and in camps with housing – 133 lei/day. Head of the Department of preschool, elementary, and general education Valentin Crudu mentioned that out of the 80 camps 52 are State funded, 6 belong to labor unions, 14 are private, and 8 belong to different religious denominations. 4,200 tutors are employed, in order to assure a beneficial stay for the children. The bulk of them are students from pedagogic faculties from universities or colleges. Public local administration allotted about 82 million lei for the organization of summer camps. Additionally, based on a cooperation protocol between the Romanian Ministry of Education, Research, Youth and Sport and the Moldovan Ministry of Education, 360 kids from the right bank of the Nistru and 90 from eastern districts and Bender will join the summer camp in Sulina, Tulcea county, Romania. This summer, 80 children went to camps in Switzerland, and 30 others went to camps in Italy for medical treatment and rehabilitation.
