85-year-old dies from carbon monoxide poisoning
A man aged 85 from Carpineanca, Hancesti was killed in a house fire on September 5. The cause of fire is yet to be established.
Dorina Sochirca, press officer of the Civil Protection and Emergencies Service, has told Info-Prim Neo that the man died from carbon monoxide poisoning. The damage caused by the fire was estimated at about 200 lei.
Sources in the mayor’s office of Sarata Galbena village that includes Carpineanca commune informed the Agency that the man was in poor health and lived alone. His sister visited him regularly and prepared food for him. Most probably, the fire was caused by a smoldering cigarette.
According to the Civil Protection and Emergencies Service, the eight fires that happened in Moldova last night resulted in one death.
