83.5% of Moldovans believe Moldova goes in a wrong direction

83.5% of Moldova’s population consider that the country goes in a wrong direction. This is the highest figure since the Public Opinion Barometer started to be carried out, director of the Public Policy Institute Arcadie Barbarosie told a news conference, quoted by Info-Prim Neo. The survey reveals that 92% of the Moldovans are dissatisfied with the salaries, 90% with the job, 88% with the corruption combating measures taken, 86% with the living standards, 85%, with the pensions, etc. The number of people who are discontented with the state of affairs in the mentioned areas has slightly increased during the past year. 71% of the population are dissatisfied with the present economic situation. 32% of those polled believe the situation remained the same as last year, while 51% said it has worsened, up 11% compared with the previous poll. The economic security continues to be the main problem for the Moldovans. 75% of the respondents consider that they do not enjoy decent living standards, 34% said their disposable incomes are not enough for the bare essentials, while 41% said they manage to cover only the most necessary things. About 53% of the population are dissatisfied with their way of life, this being the highest level recorded since 2003. The political situation remains a major source of dissatisfaction for 91% of those questioned, which is a record high within the poll. Commissioned by the Public Policy Institute, the Public Opinion Barometer was conducted by the Center for Sociological Investigations and Marketing CBS-AXA between October 22 and November 6. It covered a sample of 1 113 persons from 99 settlements. The margin of sampling error is 3%.
