As a result of the heavy rain accompanied by high winds of the last two days, 83 settlements of 16 districts remained disconnected from the power supply, IPN has learned from the Civil Protection and Emergencies Service.

On October 12, the rescuers in southern Moldova were called to remove downed trees from vehicles and roads. No one was hurt in these incidents.

The same day, the rescuers in Cahul pumped water out of yards in the town and in several communities of the district. In Pascani village, the water accumulated on a street and threatened to flood a number of houses.

The Civil Protection and Emergencies Service calls on the people to seek help from rescuers in emergencies and to follow authorities’ instructions.
