As many as 81 young people were selected as beneficiaries of the third project “Awards for young people from boarding schools”. For the first time this year, the awardees include boys, IPN reports.
The project is implemented by the Educational Advising Center. In the opening of the award ceremony, the Center’s executive director Angela Muset said the project has a major impact on socially deprived young people. Owing to the obtained awards, they will be able to continue their studies and to learn a profession that will secure their living.
Minister of Labor, Social Protection and Family Valentina Buliga said that education is the main pillar in the social inclusion process. “Owing to this project, you can be proud of obtaining the title of awardees of 2013. I’m glad that you benefit from this support,” she stated.
Mickael Faure, president of the Board of Orange Moldova Foundation, which financially supports the project, said that education is a priority sector in the foundation’s activity, while this project is the most successful and the most popular. “For me, it is very important that I saw your success in the pictures and merits that you have. I hope that in the future, we will have more awardees,” he stated.
Awardees Mircea Botezatu said the young people from broodings schools are as all the other young people and deserve to be supported. He thanked the foundation for the chance offered to boys to take part in the awards program. Awardees Irina Zaharia said that she studies at college and will use the award to buy textbooks and supplies. Mariana Strasnei, who studies at the National College of Winemaking and Winegrowing in Chisinau, said the award enables her to travel home to visit her parents on the weekend.
During three years, over 150 young people from national boarding schools received 240 annual awards to the value of 1,000 a month.
