80% of broadcasters do not observe the Broadcasting Code

About 80% of broadcasters do not respect the broadcasting schedule approved by the Broadcasting Coordination Council (CCA), as well as the list of retransmitted channels, CCA member Valeriu Frumusachi told Info-Prim Neo. Frumusachi made these statements in light of the fact that CCA has publicly warned several more TV and radio stations for violating certain provisions included in the Broadcasting Code. He mentioned that the regulatory body will continue its monitoring. CCA has publicly warned the radio stations “101.3 FM”, “Univesr FM” and “Vocea Basarabiei”. As a result of the monitoring, CCA found that these stations have violated provisions included in the Code, especially in what concerns the broadcasting schedule, and the share of programmes and music which has to be broadcasted in the official language. Several cable operators were also warned for not respecting the terms included in the broadcasting license. Another 3 stations – “TV-Prim” from Glodeni, “Pro TV Chisinau” and the radio station “Retro FM”, - were warned for several insignificant violations, according to the CCA members. Also today, CCA approved a series of schedules which incorporate the programmes retransmitted by the cable operators.
