The situation of the main water pipe in Bender, Transnistrian region, is critical, 80% of it being deteriorated, reports Novyi Region News Agency on its website, cited by Info-Prim Neo. According to the region’s administration, currently the pipes are being repaired or replaced, but that is not enough. Daily, about 7-8 accidents happen on the Bender (Tighina) underground water networks. A mobile team, made up of 9 workers, operates within city radius, and sometimes splits into two teams, if necessary. The Bender administration claims that it doesn’t have enough money and the necessary intervention tools. Currently, the employees use their own tools.
