80 children from residential institutions to vacation in Switzerland

About 80 children from residential institutions that are controlled by the Ministry of Education will vacation in a medical camp in Switzerland between July 14 and 28, 2014. Deputy Minister of Education Liliana Nicolaescu-Onofrei thanked in this connection Swisscor Foundation for the support provided to the children, IPN reports.

“The previous years, owing to the effort made by the Foundation’s specialists, the children’s state of health improved and they lived new cultural experiences. The Ministry of Education, together with the competent ministries, will offer the necessary support for the summer camp to run smoothly in 2014,” said the deputy minister.

According to the representative of Swisscor Foundation Jörg Rikenmann, the camp’s medical team will investigate the children’s state of health and will offer them support and adjusted devices for locomotor, visual and hearing impairments and dental devices. “In the immediate period, there will be selected the residential institutions, the children and the adults who will accompany them,” he stated.

The medical camp Swisscor is organized with the support of the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation, based on an agreement of partnership between Swisscor Foundation and the Ministry of Education.

It will be the fifth trip of the kind. As many as 327 Moldovan children from residential institutions vacationed in the summer camp Swisscor in 2007, 2010, 2012 and 2013.
