A woman aged 75 from Trebisauti village of Briceni district died on the spot as a result of a traffic accident on August 1. Press officer of the Briceni Police Inspectorate Aliona Bulgari has told IPN that the accident occurred on the M-6 km road, not far from Briceni town.

The woman was the passenger of a Mazda 323 car that was struck from behind by a Toyota Avensis car driven by a 32-year-old woman from Briceni town. The first car was projected into another vehicle.

An investigation was opened to determine all the circumstances of the accident and the culprit. This faces three to seven years in jail and ban on driving for a period of up to four years.
