75% of Moldova’s population does not have decent living conditions. For 34% of the Moldovans, the disposable incomes are enough not event for the bare essentials, shows the Public Opinion Barometer survey presented by the Public Policy Institute today, April 14, IPN reports.

26% of those polled are not satisfied with their living conditions, 37% are neither satisfied, nor dissatisfied, while 19% are rather satisfied.

The poll revealed that the Moldovans are mostly concerned about poverty (30%), prices (20%), the children’s future (16%) and unemployment (10%). According to those polled, these problems can be solved by strengthening order in the country (31%), developing the economy (21%), and improving the living standards (21%).

58% of those polled said their living conditions are almost the same as a year ago, while each fourth Moldovan considers they have worsened.

83% of the residents didn’t travel to the EU over the last five years, while 40% believe that they will travel more often to the EU after the liberalized visa regime comes into force.

Two in three respondents know little or nothing about the Association Agreement between Moldova and the EU, but 61% consider that the signing of the given accord is very important or important for Moldova.

The Public Opinion Barometer was carried out between March 28 and April 13 and covered a sample of 1,115 people from 76 settlements. The margin of sampling error is 3%.
