A contingent of the Company of the Guard of Honor will take part in the June 24 parade in Moscow’s Red Square, on the instruction of President Igor Dodon. The information was confirmed for IPN by press officer of the Ministry of Defense Ala Diaconu.
“On the instruction of the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, President of the Republic of Moldova Igor Dodon, a contingent of 75 service members of the Company of the Guard of Honor will take part in the parade in the Red Square on June 24, 2020,” stated Ala Diaconu.
Asked about the conditions in which the service members will travel amid the pandemic, Ala Diaconu said all the precaution measures will be taken.
Recently, President Igor Dodon accepted his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin’s invitation to take part in the events dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the Victory Day. The parade, which is traditionally held on May 9, was transferred to June 24 because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
