About 700 social dwellings will be constructed in Moldova until 2018, within the second stage of a project financed by the Council of Europe Development Bank, Minister of Regional Development and Construction Marcel Raducan said in a program on Radio Moldova, IPN reports.
The total cost of the project is €20.4 million. The loan from the Council of Europe Development Bank covers 65% of the budget (€13.4 million). The contribution of the local public authorities is 35% of the project’s value. The contribution includes money, plots and works.
Currently, social dwellings are built in the districts Calarasi, Sangerei, and recently in Briceni. The construction works will be soon completed in the districts Leova, Hancesti, Ialoveni and Soroca. Most of the blocks will have by five stories with about 40 apartments ready for being occupied. The buildings will be connected to the water supply and sewerage system, fixed-line telephone, cable TV and the Internet.
The lending framework-agreement for implementing the second-stage of the project to build homes for socially deprived groups of people was ratified by Parliament last July. The €13.4 million loan is repayable in 20 years, with a grace period of five years.
