The State University of Medicine and Pharmaceutics “Nicolae Testemitanu” made available 700 places for the 2014 admission session. Applications can be submitted from July 21 until August 2 and the results will be posted on August 13.

Contacted by IPN, deputy secretary of the admission commission Gheorghe Harea said that 475 of the places are budget-funded, while 225 places are tuition-based.

At Medicine, 370 places are budget-funded, 30 of each are intended for the Transnistrian region, while 75 are tuition-based. At Dentistry, there are 30 budget-funded places, five of which for applicants from Transnistria, and 75 places on a contract basis. At Public Health, there are only budget-funded places, 50 in number. At Pharmacy, 25 places are budget-funded, while 75 are tuition-based.

No age limit is set for the admission contest. The applicants can submit applications simultaneously at three faculties of a university. The contest is based on education certificates and applicants will not need to take additional tests.

About 1,800 applications for the available 750 places were submitted to State University of Medicine and Pharmaceutics “Nicolae Testemitanu” last year. At Pharmacy, 42 applicants contended for one place, while at Dentistry the ratio was 31:1.
