700 Moldovans officially work on construction in Romania
The Romanian Immigration Office has issued this year a number of 8,280 work permits. The highest number is for Turks, more than 3,000. Chinese rank second, with almost 2,200 permits and the Republic of Moldova citizens rank third – 700 issued labor permits.
More than 8,000 foreign workers have arrived this year in Romania’s cities in order to replace the Romanians settled in the West. The lack of specialized labor force, especially in constructions, forced the investors to hire Turks, Chinese, Portuguese, Republic of Moldova citizens, as well as Romanians, who had went abroad to work and received the respective western state citizenship, Info-Prim Neo has learnt from Romania media.
Entrepreneurs appreciate that approximately 100,000 Chinese will be employed on the Romanian construction yards, up to 2010, in order to compensate the labor deficit in constructions.
