70% of poll’s respondents say they would vote for Moldova’s accession to EU
70% of the respondents of Omnibus opinion poll, conducted by Marketing and Surveys Institute (IMAS) declared that they would vote for the accession of Moldova to the European Union if a referendum were held tomorrow. Only 9% said they would vote against the accession.
However, only 30% of the respondents would vote for the accession to NATO, and 27 – against. At the same time, about 70% of the respondents declared they trust or trust very much EU and only 20% - do not trust. At the same time, 40% of persons trust NATO.
57% of the questioned persons consider that the most appropriate situation for Moldova is to benefit from the help of other countries to become a member of the EU. The majority, 48% declared that Romania is the country which could help us the most in this respect. Asked about the same issue, only 12% consider that the support could be offered by Russia.
16% of the respondents admit that Moldova has some chances to become in 4 years at the outside a full-rights member of EU, and 26% - in 5-10 years. The percentage of those who consider that this event will never happen constitutes 10%, and one quarter of the respondents did not answer this question.
The Omnibus polls are carried out every three months and involve a sample of 1100 persons interviewed across the Republic of Moldova.
