70% of the community acquis will be transposed to Moldova during a period of up to ten years. By implementing these rules and standards, Moldova will practically become economically integrated into the EU, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Iulian Groza said in the public debates staged by the EU Delegation to Moldova on the occasion of the signing of the Association Agreement between Moldova and the EU, IPN reports.
According to Iulian Groza, Moldova will be surrounded by a free trade area as Ukraine also signed the Association Agreement and Moldova will also have a free trade agreement with Turkey by this yearend. “All the preconditions are being created for Moldova, which is a small country and needs capital and investments but also depends on exports, to develop,” said the deputy minister.
He added that the objective at this moment is to set the steps that Moldova must take to obtain the political support of all the EU member states for a clear European prospect. “The Association Agreement with the EU is not our final objective. This means that we can go much further,” stated Iulian Groza.
The community acquis defines all the common rights and obligations deriving from the status of EU member state.
Moldova on June 27 signed the Association Agreement with the EU.
