70% of the agriculture insurance policies will be funded from the state budget. The decision of the government also contains the list of the risks and goods put under insurance, Info-Prim Neo reports. The following items were included in the list of risks: the excessive drought causing a decrease of the crops of over 30 %, hailstorms, low temperatures under the biologic resistance limit of the plants, thunders, floods, perishing of animals and birds because of diseases, slaughtering animals according to the instructions of the Sanitary-Veterinary Agency and for the Insurance of the Animal Products. The following items were included in the list of agricultural goods under the funded insurance: sugar beet, corn, sun-flower, vegetables and tobacco for the 2009 harvest, and wheat, barley and falls rape for the 2010 harvest, the multi-annual plantations – vineyards, orchards, wine-growing and fruit-growing nurseries, as well as the grapes and fruit harvests, animals and birds. The sum of the subventions allotted from the budget for funding the insurance in agriculture is 25 million lei in 2009. Anatolie Spivacenco, the deputy minister of agriculture and food industry, said that in 2005 – 2008, the interest of the agricultural producers toward this kind of insurance grew much.
