66% of the respondents of an opinion poll said they are for holding early legislative elections. 73% of those sampled would take part in early elections if these were held. The poll was commissioned by the International Republican Institute, IPN reports.

If early parliamentary elections were held next Sunday, 20% of those surveyed would vote for the Political Party “Our Party”. The Party of Socialists would rank second and would be followed by the European People’s Party and by the Platform “Dignity and Truth”, if this formed a party.

Asked which politicians or public figures they trust the most, most of the respondents said they have confidence in Renato Usatui. This is followed by Igor Dodon, Iurie Leanca and Maia Sandu. Andrei Nastase and Valeriu Strelet are the least trusted. Some 19% of those polled said they trust no one.

Asked to state their opinion about a number of Moldovan politicians, 85% of the respondents said they disapprove of Vladimir Plahotniuc, 83% said this about Vlad Filat, while 81% about Nicolae Timofti.

68% of those sampled said they would take part in a referendum on the method of electing the head of state. 89% said they are for the direct election of the President, by the people.

The number of those who would vote for Moldova’s entry into NATO in a referendum decreased to 19% from 31% last September.

The poll was conducted by Magenta Consulting between September 29 and October 21. The data do not cover the Transnistrian region.
