About 650 children from Moldova who achieved remarkable results in education, sports, music or plastic arts, 150 of whom are awardees of national and international Olympiads, will vacation free at two summer camps in Romania, the Ambassador of Romania in Chisinau Daniel Ionita announced in a news conference held jointly with Deputy Minister of Education Lilia Pogolsa on June 21, IPN reports.
Daniel Ionita said 450 places were distributed at the camp in Sulina, Tulcea county, while 200 at the camp Oglinzi in Neamt county. “The children must be aged between 10 and 18. The accommodation, food and travel expenses will be covered by the organizers. The children will leave in groups in several stages, with the last stage being organized at the start of August,” stated the ambassador.
“The given measures will contribute to promoting intercultural dialogue between the young generations of Romania and the Republic of Moldova and of the spirit of affiliation to the European values. They will also contribute to developing skills to communicate with mates from other states and to promoting openness and tolerance,” said Lilia Pogolsa.
The program of summer camps include educational, cultural and sports activities, Romanian language courses, film screenings and general knowledge lessons.
