65 students were not attending school on September 22 in Chisinau

65 students were still not put to school in Chisinau to the date of September 22. Municipal authorities qualify as optimistic this figure which is by 1/3 lower compared with the beginning of the last year. The interim head of the Department for education, science, youth and sports, Tatiana Nagnibeda, ascertained at City Hall’s meeting, organized on Monday 25, that this phenomenon is due to the refusal of parents to send their children to school, vagabondage, and bad results in school or migration of children abroad together with their parents. At present the problem is tried to be solved by the managers of pre-higher education institutions, by discussing with parents and trying to identify solutions for children’s problems, so they could be put to school as fast as possible. Also, Nagnibeda said that due to the fact that the City Hall offered a material aid of MDL 400 to socially vulnerable families, the number of children who do not attend school has reduced. Those MDL 2.68 mln, given by the Municipal Council in this respect, were distributed almost on the whole. 6700 students received financial support from the City Hall, and 109 are waiting for it. Until September 29, education authorities will find out why those over 100 children did not receive their aid from the City Hall. If other children, who were not put school will be identified further, they will also receive financial support from the City Hall, Tatiana Nagnibeda said, cited by Info-Prim Neo.
