This year there will be rehabilitated 643 kilometers of national and local roads. Transport and Roads Minister Anatol Salaru stated at a news conference that the roads will be repaired from external sources, from the State Budget and the Roads Fund, Info-Prim Neo reports. A total of 73 kilometers of the roads Chisinau-Hincesti, Chisinau-Soroca, Balti-Sarateni will be rehabilitated from funds offered by the European Investment Bank (EIB) and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD). The cost of the works is estimated at 577 million lei. 83.5 million lei from the State Budget will be used to repair a portion of the Rezina-Orhei road, between Cuizauca and Step-Soci. Financing from the Road Fund will be used for the roads Anenii Noi – Causeni – Stefan Voda, Calarasi – Lozova – Hincesti, Tiraspol – Causeni – Stefan Voda and others. Further, maintenance works will be performed on 500 kilometers of roads, estimated at 168.5 million lei. Additionally, 4 new national bridges will be built and 30 others will be repaired. This year there will be held six auctions to select the contractors for the rehabilitation works. Anatol Salaru said only foreign companies will be allowed, this being a condition of the International Constructors Federation. Also this year, it is planned to sign a grant agreement for Ungheni's belt road worth 16.2 million euros, which will connect the town to the international road Tirgu-Mures – Iasi –Ungheni.
