63.5% of the Moldovans believe that things in Moldova go wrong and only 27.9% consider that the country follows the right path, while 8.6% do not have an answer, shows a Sociopolitical Barometer compiled by the Marketing and Polling Institute IMAS-INC Chisinau, by order of IPN News Agency.
The institute’s manager general Doru Petruti told a news conference that 18% of those who said that Moldova follows a wrong path consider this is because of the country’s administration. 11.1% believe that nothing will be done to change the course, while 10% blame poverty for such a state of affairs. The others said that things in Moldova go wrong because of the conflicts in Parliament and because there is no order and stability in the country and also because of unemployment, low pensions and salaries.
According to the poll, 48% of those questioned said that this year for Moldova was neither good nor bad, 36% consider it was bad, 15% said it was good, while 1% do not know.
The Moldovans are afraid of war most (14.6%). They are also afraid of poverty (12.7%), disease (10.8%), and unemployment (7.7%).
The biggest problems faced by Moldova today are, according to the respondents, the joblessness (47.9%), poverty (34.3%), and corruption (33.3%). Among other problems, the Moldovans mentioned the pensions and salaries (19.2%), the economic problems (14.8%), the rise in prices (13.5).
The survey was carried out between October 19 and November 11, 2013. It covered a sample of 1,126 people from 76 settlements. The margin of sampling error is +/- 3%.
