The organization IDEA Institute launched the second edition of the project Academy of Ideas. 60 young people are expected to apply to join the other participants in the Academy. They will have the chance to come up with new ideas, to take part in debates and trainings, to propose solutions to the problems they face. Victoria Bounegru, member of the IDEA Institute and project director of the Academy of Ideas II, declared during a press conference that the Academy was a concept fully developed by the association. The first project was prepared in July-August 2010 and implemented in October 2010- May 2011. “The goal of the Academy of Ideas II is to gather 30 young people from Chisinau, aged 18-26, who will participate in various group activities between October and May. They will communicate within the debate club and generate many ideas regarding the socio-economic sphere”, said Victoria Bounegru. During the trainings, the participants will identify 8 problems that youth face most frequently and will find solutions. The Academy will also be organized in Balti. Thus, 30 young people from this city will join the Academy of Ideas II. Victoria Bounegru announced that the project has four public events scheduled, which will be organized by the participants. They will also present the results obtained during the modules at press conferences. “This project is a course of informal education. The members of the Academy of Ideas will meet every Saturday, between 10 AM and 1 PM, and will participate in a series of discussions with experts and specialists from various domains like agriculture, organization or commerce. Representatives of the local public administration will be invited as well. The goal of the project is to educate youth that will be active in the socio-economic sphere, will generate ideas and, if possible, will implement them”, said Victoria Bounegru. Dana Muntean, PR coordinator of the Academy of Ideas II, explained that the applicants would have to fill in a form and would be selected according to established criteria. “It’s great to apply because the project offers the chance to interact with other young people who want a change and know how to do it and with interesting experts as well”, she said. The CV and application forms can be submitted until September 16, when the Academy kicks off in both cities. The project is organized in partnership with the Academy of Economic Studies, the civic association Pro Business Nord and is funded by the US Embassy.
