The national pharmaceutical market is in need of about 60 names of medicines, 32 of which do not have analogues. The commission for the import of nonregistered pharmaceutical products that are needed in the health system already prepared import authorizations for 20 names of drugs and is to take a decision over another 12 names the comings days, IPN reports.
The list of produces whose importation is to be authorized includes Oftagel 10 g, Nitrosorbid 10 mg, Imunofan 0.005%, and Fenazepam 1.0/05 mg. The other medicines that cannot be found in drugstores can be substituted with analogues of the same pharmacological-therapeutic group.
In a press release, the Agency for Medicines and Medical Devices says the absence of drugs was ascertained as a result of an inspection carried out at the request of the Government. Among the causes that led to the disappearance of some of the medicines are the non-extension by importers of the drug registration certificate, the refusal by some of the producers to supply pharmaceutical products to Moldova for the reason that the catalogue prices do not cover production costs, and the non-meeting of the international standards transposed to the national legislation by some of the producers.
To remedy the situation, the Agency offered attractive conditions for registering new pharmaceutical products in Moldova, introduced a simplified drug authorization procedure and simplified the requirements concerning labeling and packing. It also opened negotiations with foreign producers that withdrew from the domestic market during the last few years so as to restore the cooperation relations. Some of these expressed readiness to present the documents required for having the produced medicines authorized.
The National Catalogue of Producer Prices indicates the prices of 4,396 drugs, while the State Nomenclature of Medicines includes 5,716 names of pharmaceutical products. This August alone, there were authorized 256 new drugs. 70% of these are made in the EU.
