Six persons registered their candidacies for the office of chairman of “Teleradio-Moldova” or directors of national TV and radio stations, as a result of the contest organised by the Supervisory Board (SB) of the Company. Sources from the SB told Info-Prim Neo that until Thursday, March 22, applications were filed by Valentin Todercan, general director of cinematography Department, and Ion Mazur, who worked at the Embassy of Moldova in Bucharest. For the office of “Moldova 1” director are competing Adela Railean, the incumbent director of the public TV station and Dumitru Mamaliga, working at the same station. For the office of “Radio Moldova” director are competing 2 persons – Vlad Turcanu, member of the Broadcasting Coordination Council (CCA), and Ion Magu, former head of Customs Service press unit. The deadline for submitting applications is March 23, 1:00 pm. The members of the Board will meet on March 28 to appoint the chairman and the two directors of “Moldova 1” TV station and “Radio Moldova”. According to the stipulations of the Audiovisual Code, the 3 persons must comply with a series of standards: to be professionals in the field and have managerial skills; higher education; to be citizens of Moldova; to know the official language etc. The offices are incompatible with the office of Government member, MP, CCA member, political party member, shareholder of a private broadcaster. SB confirms the councillors with the vote of at least 2/3 of the members. The Chairman of the Company and the two directors are appointed for a 5-year term.
