Fifty-nine new trolleybuses bought by the Chisinau administration from a Minsk factory will be running on routes in the capital city from August 23. In Monday’s meeting of City Hall officials, Gheorghe Morgoci, director of the Electric Transport Company, said that another five trolleybuses are to arrive in Chisinau this week, Info-Prim Neo reports.
”The producer has so far delivered 59 trolleybuses. All of them will run on routes from tomorrow. The last trolleybuses were brought on August 20 and we needed 2-3 days to put them into operation. According to our information, five more trolleybuses set off from Minsk,” said Gheorghe Morgoci.
The Chisinau City Hall purchased 102 trolleybuses from the Belarusian factory “Belkommunmash” within a project to modernize public transport. The project is financed by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, the European Investment Bank and the European Union. All the trolleybuses will be delivered to Moldova by the middle of September.
