56% of Moldovans would vote for joining EU
If a referendum was held next Sunday, 56% of the Moldovans would vote for joining the European Union, while 20% would vote against, shows the Reintegrated Opinion Barometer conducted by the Chisinau Marketing and Polling Institute IMAS, Info-Prim Neo reports.
According to the poll, 34% of the people living on the right side of the Nistru consider the information about the EU is insufficient, while 45% said the opposite.
21% of the respondents believe that Moldova will never become an EU member state, 16% think it will join the European Union in 5-10 years, 12% - in 11-15 years, 6% - in 16-20 years, while 11% - in more than 20 years.
28% of those questioned consider the Moldovans will be able to travel to the EU visa-free in over five years, 16% - in three years, 10% - this or next year, while 23% suppose that this will never happen.
The survey also shows that 48% of the respondents would vote for joining the Russia-Belarus-Kazakhstan Union, while 15% would vote against. 23% of those polled would vote for joining NATO, while 42% would vote against.
The survey was carried out between April 10 and 24. The margin of sampling error is ±2.9% for the right side of the Nistru River.
