54 performances to be presented within “Martsishor” festival all over Moldova

This year’s edition of the International Music Festival “Martsishor” entitled “Martsishor is love” will consist of 54 performances that will be staged during March 1-10. Half of these will be given outside Chisinau, four of which in Tiraspol. The inaugural performance will be traditionally held at the National Palace “Nicolae Sulac” in Chisinau on March 1, IPN reports.

“The performance at the National Palace will involve such emeritus artists as Valentina Nafornita, Marina Bulicanu, Ianna Novac, Geta Burlacu, Cornelia and Marcel Stefanet and many others. The next day we invite you to a great concert that will feature the Academic Dances Ensemble “Virskii” of Ukraine. On March 3, we will have a fascinating choreographic performance entitled “Demon and Angel” that will involve artists from Argentina. On March 4, 75 fiddlers of Botgros’s ensemble will give an engrossing performance. During the next few days, performances will be given by such Romanian artists as Delia, Alex Velea and Antonia,” Andrei Locoman, director of the National Palace “Nicolae Sulac” told a news conference.

“This year, among the musicians involved in the festival’s program are names from 13 countries, such as Latvia, Italy, Argentine, Ukraine, Georgia, Russian Federation, China, Portugal, Romania, Czech Republic, Germany, Belgium, the U.S. and emeritus artists from our country. We promise a series of extraordinary performances that will be staged at the National Palace “Nicolae Sulac”, the National Philharmonic “Sergey Lunkevich”, the National Opera House “Maria Biesu”, the Organ Hall, etc.” stated Minister of Education, Culture and Research Monica Babuc.

The National Philharmonic “Sergey Lunkevich” invites the public to a series of symphonic concerts. “We will have three symphonic concerts under the direction of master Mihai Agafita, Gheorghe Mustea and Igor Verbitski from Voronej and also a jazz concert and a performance of Mongolian music presented by artists from China,” said the Philharmonic’s director Svetlana Bivol.

The concluding concert that will be given at the National Palace “Nicolae Sulac” on March 10 will involve the National Academic Folk Dances Ensemble “Joc”.

The 52nd edition of the festival is dedicated to the inscribing of the multinational fie “Cultural Practices Associated to the 1st of March” on the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity on December 6, 2017. Tickets to the inaugural performance cost between 50 to 1,200 lei.
