As many as 5,268 homes have been purchased through the agency of the governmental program “First House” so far. The banks released a total of 2.64 billion in homes loans for the purpose, with the active guarantees coming to 1.32 billion lei, IPN reports.
According to the Ministry of Finance, of the 5,268 beneficiaries, 3,636 are families, while 1,632 are unmarried young people. The average age of the applicants is 31.3. The compensations provided from the state budget for helping the beneficiaries to partially cover the costs associated with the homes loans totaled 33.52 million lei.
The average size of a bought dwelling is 60.36 square meters. The average value of the purchased homes is 600,360 lei. Of all the acquired dwellings, 4,922 are situated in urban areas, while 346 are located in rural areas. 4,821 are apartments, while 447 are private homes.
The governmental program “First House” is intended for Moldovan citizens aged between 18 and 50 who work officially for a state institution or a private company based in Moldova and have official earnings. The initial own contribution is 5% of the purchase price of the dwelling.
