5+2 participants agree on procedures for formalizing results
At the latest 5+2 talks on the settlement of the Transnistrian conflict, the participants established the procedures for formalizing the results of the negotiations and agreed on the registration of principles and procedures of the negotiation process, the Moldovan Reintegration Bureau said in a press release.
The latest round of negotiations, which took place in Vienna on July 12 and 13, addressed issues related to the freedom of movement of persons and goods, rail and road traffic transiting the region, and the development of the road infrastructure. Other issues discussed included the recognition of studies, problems faced by schools providing education in the Latin script in the Transnistrian region and steps to be taken to improve the conditions in which they work.
The 5+2 format includes representatives of the sides, mediators and observers in the negotiation process – Moldova, Transnistria, the OSCE, the Russian Federation, Ukraine, the US and the EU
The next meeting is scheduled to take place in Vienna in September.
