“5+2” negotiations resume on 27-28 February in Chisinau and Tiraspol
The next round of Transdniestrian settlement negotiations in the “5+2” format will take place in the offices of the OSCE Mission in Chisinau and Tiraspol on 27 and 28 February 2006, according to OSCE press release.
Delegations will be led by Moldovan Minister for Reintegration, Vasile Sova, Transdniestrian Chief Negotiator Valeri Litskai, the Head of the OSCE Mission to Moldova, Ambassador William Hill, Russian Ambassador at Large Valeri Nesterushkin, Ukrainian Special Representative Ambassador Dmitry Tkach, EU Special Representative for Moldova, Ambassador Adriaan Jacobovits de Szeged and Deputy Assistant Secretary for European and Eurasian Affairs at the U.S. Department of State, David Kramer.
In continuation of the discussions during the last meeting on 26-27 January, the agenda for this round of negotiations includes questions related to the economic relationships between the sides, the prospects for an assessment mission to Transdniestria, the monitoring of enterprises of the military-industrial complex in Transdniestria, the exchange of military information as proposed in the package of Confidence and Security Building Measures as well and the situation in the security zone.
The OSCE Mission invites all media representatives to a press conference to be held, on Wednesday, 1 March 2006 at 10h at the Missions headquarters (str. Mitropolit Dosoftei 108, Chisinau).
