Unofficial negotiations in the 5+2 format might take place in Vienna next week. Acting President Mihai Ghimpu and special representatives of the mediators and observers to the Transnistrian conflict settlement talks held consultations on the topic in Chisinau on Tuesday, Info-Prim Neo reports. On Wednesday, September 22, the delegation is to leave for Tiraspol to have discussions with the Transnistrian administration. “In Tiraspol, we will have discussions with the specialized working groups of Transnistria. On Tuesday, we had meetings with the specialized working groups on behalf of the official Chisinau. Unfortunately, the working group on economy and trade this year has convened only once,” said Bulat Nurgaliev, the special representative of the Kazakh Presidency of the OSCE. Speaker Mihai Ghimpu said he regrets that the representatives of Transnistria did not attend the consultations in Chisinau. The Moldovan side asked reopening the talks in the 5+2 format. “The conflict must be resolved no matter who governs the country. I have high hopes of this 5+2 format,” Mihai Ghimpu said. Vienna is to host the 13th round of unofficial negotiations in the 5+2 format.
