50% of drug import authorizations are intended for Transnistrian region

Half of all the drug import authorizations in Moldova are designed for companies based in the Transnistrian region. According to the Reintegration Policies Bureau, since the war started in Ukraine until present, 50% of the drug import authorizations issued by the Medicines and Medical Devices Agency went to the eight Transnistrian business entities. Over 800 such authorizations were issued to these, about 300 of which for medicines of vital importance, IPN reports.

In the meeting of the working group consisting of health protection experts, at the request of Tiraspol representatives of the Ministry of Health of Moldova explained the procedure for purchasing lab tests for detecting viral hepatitis B, C, D intended for patients from the Transnistrian region. Chisinau expressed its readiness to offer medical services for the rehabilitation of children with cerebral palsy from the Transnistrian region.

The experts of the working group agreed to maintain the dialogue so as to ensure the citizens’ access to high-quality medicines and treatment.
