50 families remain without dwellings

50 families remained without apartments after the building that was to be put in commission in 2010 wasn’t constructed. The people said they paid about 28 million lei to the construction company, Info-Prim Neo reports. Daniela Bodrug, vice president of “Antimafie” Movement, to whom the families appealed, told a news conference that the company that signed contracts with the people stopped work in 2008. Two years later, there was started the insolvency procedure and Iurie Ispas was named administrator of the procedure by court decision. The people said they filed multiple complaints to the Prosecutor General’s Office, the Anticorruption Prosecutor’s Office, and the National Anticorruption Center. In December 2012, the materials were sent to the Police Commissariat of Chisinau’s Centru sector. The families said that Iurie Ispas had been the administrator of the block in 2010-2012. In this period, he assured them that they will receive apartments. Now he wants to sell the plot on which the building was to be erected. “The police said there are not enough proofs to investigate Iurie Ispas,” said Daniela Bodrug. Stefan Migherea, participant in the Nistru war, said that he doesn’t have where to stay with his family and can only ask the Metropolitan Bishop to pray for him. “Who can help us and do justice to us? I only ask what is mine,” he stated. Valentina Cucos worked for eight years abroad and invested the money she earned in an apartment that was to be constructed. “I could give this money to children not to the mafia in Moldova,” said the woman. Contacted by Info-Prim Neo, Iurie Ispas refused to provide explanations.
