In January-May 2010, the industrial output yielded by companies of all types of ownership amounted to 9.997 billion lei in current prices, up 6.1% on the similar period last year, the National Statistics Bureau reported. The rise was chiefly attributed to a larger output in the processing industry (+7.8 percent) and the energy sector (+0.7%). Other sectors that saw increments were the clothing industry, the wine and liquor industry, the tobacco industry, etc. At the same time, output dropped in the industries producing glass, cement, lime, metal and wood articles.
