In the course of 2018, there were founded 4,900 enterprises and liquated 7,800 enterprises. The reporting enterprises numbered 48,800, 35,500 of which or about 72.7% representing active enterprises, IPN reports.

According to the National Bureau of Statistics, most of the active enterprises in 2018 worked in trade - 15,400 enterprises or 43.3% of the active enterprises. As many as 3,400 enterprises or 9.5% of the active enterprises operated in the processing industry.

A number of 22,700 enterprises or 63.9% of the active enterprises worked in the municipality of Chisinau in 2018. As many as 2,900 enterprises were created here in the course of last year.

The privately owned enterprises in 2018 totaled 32,500 or 91.4% of the active enterprises.
