The Ministry of Financed will transfer over 2 million lei to the local public authorities for providing lump-sum payments for purchasing, building and repairing homes to 49 persons, IPN reports.

The recipients include war veterans, participants in the war for defending the country’s independence and integrity, persons affected by the Chernobyl nuclear disaster and victims of political repression who didn’t benefit from preferential loans from financial institutions and weren’t provided with dwellings by October 22, 2004.

The Cimislia District Council will get 772,000 lei for allocating compensations, the Floresti District Council – 410,000 lei, while the Chisinau Municipal Council - 205,000 lei. The other part of the sum will be allotted to the public authorities of Hancesti, Rascani, Falesti, Orhei, Leova and Straseni districts.

The money will be transferred from the 2017 state budget. A sum of 7.8 million lei was earmarked for the purposes.
