4.9 magnitude quake reported in Romania, sensed in Moldova

A 4.9-magnitude earthquake that occurred in the seismic region of Vrancea in Romania on Sunday morning was sensed in Moldova as well. Ion Ilies, head of the Moldovan Seismology Center, has told Info-Prim Neo that the quake occurred at 5:24 AM at a depth of 150 kilometers and at a distance of 250 kilometers from Chisinau. The intensity of the oscillations in Chisinau and across the country was measured to stand at 4 on a scale of 12 degrees. Ion Ilies said the quake was moderate and caused no damages.
