48,000 electrical appliances put pressure on Transnistrian grid and cause breakdowns

Around 48 thousand electrical appliances for heating homes and apartments are used by the Transnistrian region's residents. This puts pressure on the electricity grid and causes breakdowns. The issue was discussed at the operative meeting, chaired by Tiraspol leader Vadim Krasnoselski, on the energy crisis, IPN reports.

According to a report by the so-called premier of the Transnistrian region, Aleksandr Rozenberg, the Cuciurgan (Moldavskaia GRAS) power plant produces between 150 and 170 MW, but citizens consume much more. This leads to the need to disconnect consumers from electricity "in fans" to stabilize the load. The localities in the region are divided into 16 groups, where each has a schedule of shutdowns, which allows even load distribution on the grids. Currently, four groups are off for four hours each.

According to the so-called premier, they are considering the option of turning off the power for four hours and disconnecting the next group from electricity after two hours, rather than four hours as previously. According to Rozenberg, no more than 150-160 MW should be consumed, otherwise the power grids will fail. Every day up to 130 accidents on the electricity grids are recorded.

Aleksandr Rozenberg urged residents to save electricity and follow experts' recommendations, which will reduce the burden on the energy system. He recommended disconnecting electrical appliances from the grid after the scheduled power cut and connecting them only after the power comes on.

According to the latest data, 122 localities in the Transnistrian region are disconnected from natural gas supply, which affects more than 51.5 thousand household subscribers and 1.8 thousand legal entities. At the same time, gas supply to social institutions (17 units) continues in the minimum possible volumes. In apartment blocks gas is supplied for cooking - 118.5 thousand subscribers. Also 79 shops and about 100 public catering organizations are supplied with gas. At the same time, 1500 houses, 131 schools and 147 kindergartens remain without central heating.
