450 military join exercise at Bulboaca base

Some 450 Moldovan military take part in a land exercise styled “Under Fair Sky - 2008” unfolding from April 15 to 8 May at the military instruction base from Bulboaca at some 40 km south-east of Chisinau, Info-Prim Neo reports as informed by the Defense Ministry. According to colonel Igor Gorgan, head of the Training Direction, the contingent will be prepared to carry out missions in the Security Zone, where the clashes during the 1992 war took place. In the final phase as many as 45 military vehicles will be used. According to the commander of the applications, colonel Mihail Bucliş, commander of the Stefan cel Mare brigade, the goal of the exercise is to improve the interoperability of components of military units in carrying out a common operation, by implementing modern military standards, testing co-relating staffs of commandments in the process of planning and leading troops. The exercise “Under Fair Sky” represents the practical stage of commandment and staff training. The concept of the applications was drafted according to the methodology of the multinational peace-keeping exercise “Cooperative Lancer-Longbow”, that unfolded in Moldova the fall of 2006.
