4000 Moldovan families have purchased new household appliances in the third session of the program of vouchers for household appliances. A total of 7873 vouchers worth 6000 lei were issued in this session, IPN reports.
A total of 1,820 washing machines and 2,180 refrigerators were purchased from the 4,000 vouchers. "Each voucher used is a concrete step towards a sustainable future for all," reads a statement issued by the National Center for Sustainable Energy (CNED).
According to CNED, the eco voucher session started on February 26 and will last until March 23. Two other sessions were held in the fall of 2024.
The appliance voucher program is dedicated to replacing old and worn out appliances with new and energy efficient equipment. Through the program, recipients receive vouchers that can cover up to 70% of the cost of new appliances.
The initiative aims to support vulnerable consumers by giving them the opportunity to purchase modern appliances that consume less energy.
