More than 400 mayors from all over the country made a common call in support of the Democratic Party’s candidate for President Marian Lupu. The call says the Republic of Moldova needs a patriotic President who is close to the people, is experienced and involved, and is a unifier and peacemaker, IPN reports, quoting a press release of the PDM.
The signatories say there is only one candidate who matches this profile and this Marian Lupu. According to them, each vote given to the Democratic candidate is a beneficial vote for Moldova’s future and is a vote for the country’s development and its European road.
“Marian Lupu is the most suitable candidate for President of Moldova. He held a number of public posts, has the necessary experience in administration and promotes balance and stability. He makes us sure that he will maintain an effective dialogue with all the chains of power, will support a Moldova with a powerful economy and with protected families. He is a convinced pro-European and will take us to where we deserve, to the big family of the European Union,” mayor of Ungheni town Alexandru Ambros said after a meeting of local elected officials with the PDM’s candidate for President.
“The mayors said a firm ‘yes’ to a constructive candidate who knows to hear, to work and to solve people’s problems. It is support expressed by almost half of all the mayors of the Republic of Moldova and this is a force that has a say,” said the mayor of Edinet Constantin Cojocaru.
Marian Lupu assured the mayors that if he is elected Head of State, he will work in close cooperation with the local elected officials in order to solve the problems faced by the people. “All people’s problems are important and must be in the focus of the President,” he stated.
The meeting involved Head of Parliament Andrian Candu and Prime Minister Pavel Filip who, by their messages, reiterated the importance of ensuring cooperation between all the institutions of the power so as to maintain the correct course towards development and modernization.
