400 dogs will be sterilized in Chisinau by a team of American veterinarians, representing the international organization World Vets, visiting Moldova this week.
The Chisinau Mayor’s Office said in a press release that the procedure will take place at the Chisinau Sterilization Center. The US veterinarians will work for four days and will be assisted by up to 15 volunteers who study at the Agrarian University to become veterinarian themselves.
Members of the public who cannot afford to take their pets to private veterinary clinics, or owners of dogs at construction sites or garage associations, are encouraged to come to the Sterilization Center.
This is the second visiting mission this year, after a team of Romanian veterinarians helped to sterilize over 100 dogs in March. The Mayor’s Office is negotiating to invite two more missions.
