A 4-year-old girl died on Wednesday after falling from the sixth floor of an apartment block in Chisinau’s Râșcani.

According to Chisinau Police spokesperson Natalia Stati, the 112 call came in at around 8:40 pm. An ambulance arrived only to discover that the girl had died immediately as a result of the fall.

The police found that the little girl was playing near the window of a balcony with her older sister, aged 6, when she pressed up against a window screen and fell through, said Natalia Stati.

The girl’s mother is in shock and detectives cannot talk to her to find out all the details, added Natalia Stati.
