4 people, 2 institutions get Bronze Bell Awards for promoting access to information

Four people and two institutions from Moldova have got the Bronze Bell Award for consistence and courage in promoting the access to information in 2008. The prizes have been awarded by Acces-Info Center on Monday at an annual conference titled “Access to information: legislation, reality, prospects,” Info-Prim Neo reports. Prizes have been awarded also to newspaper “Observatorul de Nord” from Soroca; the District Office of Centru district of Chisinau; the head of the press unit of the Foreign Ministry, Valeriu Turea; the deputy manager of the National Library, Vera Osoianu; the head of the Journalism Chair of the State University, Mihail Guzun, and to international expert Roger Vleugels from Holland. In 2007, the Bronze Bel was conferred to Vera Macinschi from the Supreme Court of Justice, to Eugen Urusciuc from the Monitor Media agency from Balti, to Helen Darbshire from „Access-Info Europe”, Spain, to the Statye Agency for Intellectual Property and to the Law Public Library from Chisinau. The Bronze Bell is offered within the days of the right to know, at their 5th edition in Moldova and which are on from September 22 to 28 with the name “An active person is a well-informed person”.
