4 April 2005 coalition aimed at saving Voronin’s personal regime – Parliamentary opposition

The pro-communist coalition created on April 4, 2005 was used solely to save from defeat the personal regime of Vladimir Voronin, MP of “Moldova Noastra” Alliance Leonid Bujor said in a speech delivered before Parliament on Thursday, April 5. MNA faction considers that the two years since the appointment of the head of state prove that the leaders of the parties which voted the communist president can be easily blackmailed and are extremely vulnerable in front of the pressure coming from outside their own parties and even outside the country. According to the statement by MNA, the meaning of the vote of April 4, April 2005 is that the government of Moldova was decided by politicians who are not capable of taking upon a coherent and independent state policy, fact which explains the external oscillations between the East and West and the disastrous situation occurred in the internal life of Moldova. “The fact that the present government is inefficient and lacks responsibility, should be to a great extent the responsibility of the coalition created on April 4, 2005”, Bujor said. Vladimir Voronin was re-elected as president of Moldova on April 4. 2005 with the votes of 75 MPs: Communists, Christian-Democrats, Democrats and Social-Liberals.
