395 persons were vaccinated outside line

As many as 395 persons were vaccinated at the first stage even if they weren’t health workers, social assistants or persons from placement centers, IPN quoted Ninel Revenco, coordinator of the COVID-19 vaccination campaign, as saying in a news conference.

Ninel Revenco noted that these persons were registered as “other categories” and they shouldn’t have been vaccinated at the first stage so that the health workers who immunized them committed deviations. The analysis showed that the registration order at some of the vaccination centers hasn’t been always respected. The Ministry of Health will decide whether to penalize these medial staff or not. It is regrettable that someone wants to be vaccinated outside the line and decide to leave out the persons at risk of becoming infected.

The vaccination is put off if the person has COVID-19 and the disease develops mildly or in a medium-grave form. The vaccine can be administered in 10-14 days after recovery. A person who developed a serious form of the disease is immunized in 90 days after recovery. The persons with HIV or chronic hepatitis will also be vaccinated, but the immune response in these persons can be less pronounced than in other patients. The persons with diabetes mellitus, blood pressure and obesity will be immunized as part of the group of persons with chronic diseases, but their situation will be analyzed individually.

There is no recommendation as to the vaccination of pregnant women. In some of the European states, the immunization of pregnant women is encouraged, especially in the last pregnancy quarter so that the baby is borne with COVID-19 antibodies. The breastfeeding mothers, if they form part of the risk group and have chronic diseases, should get a vaccine so that the newborns receive antibodies through maternal milk.

The minors can be vaccinated only with Pfizer vaccines, starting from the age of 16. The last studies showed the Pfizer vaccine is also efficient in the case of children aged 12 to 16 and the children of this age bracket are vaccinated in some of the states. COVID-19 has long-lasting effects on children.

“The vaccines Pfizer, AstraZeneca and Moderna are also efficient against the new variants of the novel coronavirus, while Pfizer turned out to be efficient against the south-African strain, while AstraZeneca is less efficient. The south-African strain hasn’t been yet detected in the region,” stated Ninel Revenco.
