From August 8 to 10, 2006, the 26th meeting of the Joint Moldovan-Ukrainian demarcation Commission was organized in Taraclia town. There were discussed issues regarding the organization of demarcation works in the north and south areas of state border between Moldova and Ukraine. According to the Border-guards Service, the leaders of the joint work group referred to the results obtained in this activity during 2006. As well, there were tackled cases when the border signs were damaged or destroyed at the Moldovan-Ukrainian border. During the aforementioned period the Moldovan-Ukrainian state border line in the north and south areas on a length of 450 km was delimited and 390 border signs were installed.
