39 students to take individual tests
For the first time in Moldova, 39 students with special educational needs who finished the ninth grade will take exams based on individual tests, Info-Prim Neo reports.
According to a communiqué from the Ministry of Education, the tests are worked out according to an individual education program. The 39 students were included in the general obligatory education system at the start of this school year. They studied the subjects according to the adapted or modified curriculum so that they are able to pass graduation exams in specific conditions.
The procedure for assessing the students with special educational needs includes the extension of the time allotted for tests, printing of the test papers in larger letters than usual, taking of the written exam at the computer, if need be organization of the exams at home, etc.
The 39 students will receive secondary school graduation certificates for students with special educational needs. The holders of such certificates can continue their studies at vocational schools.
The initiative was devised by the Ministry of Education in partnership with NGOs working in the field, based on the program for developing inclusive education in Moldova for 2011-2020, with a view to ensuring inclusive education of a high quality in general education institutions.
